Family Therapy
I see a wide range of families for family therapy as long as the youngest family members are age 8 or older. I am trained in multiple approaches for Family Systems work, but at the core of my work is a respect for each family member and the strengths they bring to the table as well as the bids for connection that they are offering.
My therapeutic specialties related to couples and families include:
Navigating developmental and life transitions
Increasing positive interactions and understanding of other family members
Developing effective communication
Processing grief & trauma
Court-Involvement
Adult families and adult siblings
One of my primary specialty areas is therapy with co-parents sharing custody across two households. This work is typically court-ordered and also involves working with legal counsel and the family’s other relevant clinicians. Please inquire to learn more about this specialized work.
I use an eclectic mix of treatment modalities, depending on the specific needs of my families. These are a few I often rely on in family therapy:
Narrative Therapy
Collaborative Family Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy
Structural Family Therapy
Gottman Couples Therapy
